Comment on this post and tell us what you want to see more of in the news. Tell us what you think we should be covering in the WIV4 NEWS broadcasts and on the WIV4 Blog.

  1. Wiv4 should do a show on what the tourists think of Providenciales. Just walk up to them in Grace Bay and ask them what was the best part or their stay, or worst part. What they think should be improved about the island etc.

Ask if they had terrible service anywhere, have them name the place so that hotel/restaurant etc. knows a bad vibe is going around the island because of their bad service. That will make them improve.

Wiv4 could also do something like this will locals too.

This type of show would be a lot more interesting than the normal ‘news’ on the island.

    Hope this helps!

  2. Many youth in the TCI don’t watch the news, them claim that it is “boring.” In order to change the mind set of these young people(as in teenagers), a news program should be placed in a youth attracted manner and also informative. This would allow young people to have a different perspective of the news and also would help them to develop their social awareness of their country.

I really hope this action can be put in place as soon as possible.

Thank you for taking the time out to read my comment.

  3. I think it’s great that you’ve asked people to vote on the Third Turtle Inn. How about a vote on what everyone thinks about Star Island and the devastation going on at Leeward Marina?

  4. I’s like to see more news about education. Both Elementary and Secondary schools. What are some things that the govenrment is doing to enhance the standard of education in the Turks and caicos Islands.

  5. We Turks Islanders, especially the youth of our country, have got to start paying attention and participating in the growth of this country, by all means, and on a much larger scale.
Our country is at a crossroad, right now where it could either break, or make us, and my opinion is, it is breaking us.
Unless, we in a united manner, not only, start reaching for the reins of our future, but start moving to the fore front, to protect those things, which were willed to us by our fore fathers, to sustain us in the future, we will be the outsiders. I guess alot of us can relate to this feeling now.
The trend now, by too many of us, is to see what we can get from the pie, whether it’s a piece of land, a scholarship, the opportunity to set up a little business, alot of them Government related, trying to get our share. Which totally amounts to crumbs.
However, most of us fail to see the whole pie being depleted and completely leaving our hands. My silly question, to our current Government, is if everything is depleted and the development is done, in the manner it is being done, mostly by outsiders, at least the best of it, what will the next generation have to look foreward to?
Do you really think this is self empowerment? Well I guess most of us know what T. I.’s first meant by now. LoL!!!!
The sad thing is at the same time that the little we had to empower us, and made us as the indegenous population assured of opportunities in the development of our Country, is being squandered and depleted. The National Debt is being heaped on us by the hundreds of million dollars in the name of our Turks and Caicos Government.

  6. On behalf of the international student body, we thank you for providing and updating us with the latest events and news via internet, however, we would appreciate our favorite source of news to be delivered on time or near the time of a current broadcast via television.

Thank you for your co-operation towards this matter.

  7. I would like the court reporting back on the news, and crime coverage, we only hear of things we should know by word of mouth.

  8. Thank you Sam Lightbourne Jr. for clearly and concisely articulating the state of development and potential for permanent depletion of resources in the Turks & Caicos Islands. I prey that your countrymen are enlightened by your comments.

  9. I visited TCI last week and I found it very beautiful, I love it there especially the water is so clear and clean but I found it weird that they have all these hotels and there is no hospital for surgery. A friend of mine that live there told me that their hospitals are only for pregnant women and children and if someone want to have a surgery done they have to go either to Bahamas or the States if it’s really true I hope there could be a hospital for surgery and everything else very soon.

  10. Sam Lightbourne Jr. Man I wish I could shake your hands right now. I LOVE how you put that. There is more to development than building high rise hotels or private clubs, we as Turks and Caicos Islanders need to develop ourselves in terms of education. Sustainability is the key because we have our future generation to think about.

  11. I am sick and tired of seeing white folks at the fore front of the news coverage what’s wrong with intervirewing natives for a change. Everyday a white person is being interviewed this is Turks and Caicos a black community, stop letting foreignor’s take over this country.

  12. good job so far

  13. I have bad news for you Pat. the commenter above who says that more questions should be asked from tourists has got it right. Your islands may be beautiful by nature but if they are successful this is by the labour of foreigners who came many years ago and risked everything to bring tourism to your country. And now, your country and tourist industry still depend on the foreigners who still come to work and spend their money and sweat in T&C. Instead of being envious, disrespecting and oppressing them ask yourself what you have done to improve your country for your children and grandchildren. The foreigners in T&C seem to care more about the future of your country than the Turks Islanders.

  14. How about keeping us informed of what is taking place in the other islands? I do understand that providenciales is the Hub of the islands, however, there are many inhabitants on the other islands who would love to see news and events about them and their place of residence.

  15. To the publisher of WIV4.com, I am a student abroad and wouldlike to remain unknown to the public. It has come to some of the student attention that new rules has been implemented since the 2008 budget has been passed and on behalf of the student body we was wondering could you gained copy of the document and post it on the website so we can read it also be knowledgeable of what is expected of us.

    Thanks, Monkz

  16. i watch news four to keep up with what is goin on in our country but what really puzzles me is sports there is tennis, hockey, socker, cricket and soft ball
out of all those name called a few of them is aired on sports report what hapn to da rest. i was as a game on tuesday nite when silverdeep ladies played pradator ladies to me that is the only time i see the action man as he calls himself dont no why cause he dont have much sports action at all but if you are going to cover sports news there is softball games on friday, saturday, sunday and wednesdays there i four ladies team and six male look forward to seeing u st them all not only whe predators playing

  17. i am looking at the news and i see so many different faces what is goin on around here what happen to the native people and i no we have people who wants to anchor the news but is not given the oppurtunity to do

  18. I agree with you Frank. Pat you should really ask yourself that question, what have you done to improve the economy or to even sustain it? Also, I would like to watch the news at the current time it is being broadcast. Come on WIV, technology has improved significantly, so I am positive there is a way this can be done. And don’t make it seem like a finacial set back, because you guys are like a monopoly throughout the Turks and Caicos Islands. So please, live braodcasting via internet!!!!

  19. I would like to comment on your story of the banking woes in south Caicos. I feel that it is a shame and a disgrace that the people of South Caicos should experience such lack of a vital resource. Even though the population is small, the fact remians, there are stil people residing there who need to conduct banking business. I am surprised that the local politicians have not intervene and made an attempt to address this. This is an opportunity for another bank to step in and do business

  20. I would like to see a weekly update on possible jobs that are currently vacant. This would be good for our young people as well as students home on vacation and looking for work.

  21. A ‘Person’ or Student of the week profile would be refreshing.

  22. Hello,

I would like to hear more of the Labour Tribunals view of the unfair dismissal cases and sexual harassment cases filed by migrant workers against their employers. Employers who think that they they are above the law have been [allegedly] doing a lot of illegal activities on the employees because of this.

  23. News need to be such that contrasting point of view is presented so that there is an appearance of fair and balance reporting.

It is not good enough to say I contact so & so for an oposite view for a comment but was unable to reach anyone.

If the person or persons is not available it is easy enough to get an opinion on the subject matter being discuss.

  24. It is so sad to see the affairs of the premier and his wife brought to the public arena. As a citizen of the country, who resides abroad, I am interested in what is occuring in my country however, private matters should remain what they are…private. This type of circus atmosphere cannot be good publicity for the country. It sheds a dim light on who and what the residents stand for and their capabilities for managing a civilized society. The media should not encourage comments/interviews with Ms Mckoy or Mr Misick. Please think about how this is portraying your country.

  25. I would really like to see a program that dedicated in braodcasting on Turks and Caicos Islander that apply for government land from so long, and even up to this date cannot get an answer on whether or not it has been appoved. I am in that boat right now and i think it is unacceptable and something should be done immediately. If any one can help please do so. It would be highly honoured by many Turks and Caicos Islanders. Ps I applied from the year 2001 then reapply in 2005 and 2006.

  26. i would like to see more coverage of the Turks Islands. i notice that most of the time all the news is mainly on Provo. The news should cover the Country not some parts of it.

  27. I want to ask the government how serious is they about sustainability?

The telephone company which furnishes land lines has taken advantage of their monopoly for far too long now.

Why should it cost us money to make local calls from a house or business phone?

With the advent of the Voice Over Internet Protocol (VIOP) I am surprised that this company has not removed the charges for local calls.

I have Vonage, my mum, brother and dad, has the Bahamian VIBE and my uncles and aunts all have the magic jack. As a matter of fact everyone in my family has some sort of VIOP. This means that we can communicate effectively with each other, pay one flat fee a month (like $24 per month).

Sustainability means that we do not continually allow companies take advantage of our citizens especially the poor and disadvantaged.

To this company, make your major income from cell phones; remove the ridicules charges for local phone calls. Your profits will continue to decline if this trend persists.

The other cell company is giving you a run for your money; they offer better value for money.

Governmental regulation is neglected and needed in this area.

  28. I think each island should have a reporter and try to have the news on live at 7:00 letting people know exactly what is really going on within the islands, and the news should not be bias!!! The news should be uptodate and not news that everyone already heard about days prior to what is being said that specific hour. It should be interesting so people would be eager to listen, and sports need alot of improvement… and if I should say so myself I think more Turks Islander should be seen at the fore front of the news instead of foreignors who is only looking for something and after they pick up and leave.. It cant happen no where else…Despite continue to do your best…

  29. the news updated everyday for those who dont have cable as yet

  30. “Turks & Caicos Islanders first” is the prejudicial slogan the PNP candidates used to win the election. What’s the result? millions of dollars in debt, thousands of dollars of scholarships awarded to incompetent students who were not even asking for them (consequently failure academically abroad and embarrassment to our country), incapable natives performing very important jobs, ect..
I say it’s time to end all prejudice, time for equality in the market, and time to encourage hard work and for us to seize opportunities rather than the government to reward us for NO accomplishments…

    Just a concerned citizen!

  31. Dear Honorable Galmo Williams:
    Minister of Immigration

I have had a number of bad experiences in stores here on the island as far as communication is concerned.

Many of the immigrant workers here on the island do not and cannot speak the Queens’ English.

The gentleman at the laundry mat spoke to me in Creole, we could not understand each other. At the grocery store, the cashier could not comprehend when I asked for a price check.

The Immigration department should do random checks on business houses to ensure that the owners comply with the laws of the land. Fluency in the English language is a must. It is extremely frustrating to know that I am in an English speaking country and great majority of workers do not speak the official language of the land. This is totally absurd.

    • This is very true. Sometimes i think that the immigrants have taken over the country. They have most if not all the jobs. May of them dont have bank accounts and send most of their money out of the country. If they send all the money out of the country what do we have to spend here and keep the economy going?

  32. I call into question the need for government offices to be located in a privately owned buildings where WE, the people, they have to pay RENT monthly.

Learned gentlemen should have sufficient sense to build a government complex to house these essential facilities.

The post office is a joke. A sub-office (unmanned) where mail is sorted and delivered is desperately needed in the Bluehills and Grace Bay areas.

You are assisting in the affordable housing project to help people become owners, take your own advice and BUILD YOU OWN COMPLEX. The landlord of the Sam Building has made a killing off the government. Enough is enough!!!

  33. Whoever is responsible for the road that leads from the security gate at the Do It Center needs to have that road elevated at least two feet and paved. The flooding after this weekend’s rain was ridicules. It would also help if the Security Guide at the Do It Center back gate would warn people that the road was indeed flooded. Seems like courtesy and common sense do not reside here in the Turks & Caicos Islands.

  34. This is 2008 and the water company, power company PPC, cable companies and the internet companies do not have an online customer care center where you can login and view your bill.

These utility companies should have this service available especially with the escalation of gas prices not to mention how ‘green’ they can be with the reduction of paperwork.

Time to think outside the box guys – this is 2008 !!! Stop acting like this is still 1840.

    Deviat Davenport

  35. I saw a lady slip and fall at IGA on Friday morning. She had her hands full with cake – the fall was ugly. Just look at your surveillance tapes to verify this story.

She got up made her purchase and departed. No security report was filed, a ‘manager’ only ‘checked’ to see how she was doing. She could very well sue this major food store for negligence as the person who was mopping the aisle did not post the ‘Caution – Wet Floor’ sign.

Much in needed in the way of training for ALL of your staffers.

  36. To the Management Team at Scotia Bank:

You should take the initiative and clear all that debris and sand that has built up alongside your easement on Cherokee Road (across from the gas station). Driving to the bank is cumbersome because of the sand build up.

Clear the sand to ensure that your clients can get to the bank safely.

  37. If Kischo, a company that is fairly new to the Turks & Caicos islands can have properly paved driveways and parking lots for their customers to use surely every other business like the gas company and restaurants and shopping malls in Providenciales can do the same.

If all those business houses in the business/warehouse district (located in the Richmond Constituency) are paying their annual license fees, surely this government and the Member of Parliament for this area can ensure that the roadways to access them are properly paved.

If the privately owned development companies are selling property in their respective townships astronomical profits surely they too can ensure that the road ways in their subdivision are paved too.

If you stand for nothing, you will continually fall for anything.

Honorable Minister Garland, put your clout where your mouth is and let’s see some change for the better as far as road improvements in you r constituency is concerned

  38. Dear Minister Wayne Garland, Minister of Tourism

I watched with great horror as you stood on national television and uttered that you were going to pursue tourist from Russia.

Like your grandmother use to say, a word to the wise is sufficient: Russia is notorious for the mob and dangerous underground world. I am sure you do not want to introduce and attract any more dubious elements to your shores.

A Word To The Wise Is Sufficient

  39. I went to a local grocery store this past Saturday and was bombarded by a gentleman selling Osama t-shirts and buttons. I asked him if the owner of the store knew that he was soliciting and bothering the customers of Island Pride and inquired if he had a license to sell goods.

Store owners should not allow their customers to be bombarded with this kind of illegal sales on their grounds. Island Pride lost money from me that day as I cut my shopping short because of the harassment.

Funny thing is that gentleman accused me of having the black crab syndrome and I am white. Go figure!!!

  40. Dear Sirs,

I love the fact you have a section of your website where one can view tv listing interactively.

It would be nice if customers of WIV4 could be able to do the same with their accounts and view their statement online.

I would also like to be able to pay my WIV4 cable and internet bill at the new Royal Bank of Canada. They are the new kid on the block as far as banking is concerned and they were worth me moving all of my accounts there.

Only thing missing is the fact that I can’t pay my cable and internet bills through them.

PLEASE APPROACH THIS BANK SO THAT YOUR CUSTOMERS CAN PAY THEIR BILLS THROUGH THEM.

This would mean less lines at your mail office.

  41. To the person who commented on Mrs. Lisa Raye McCoy Misick and the Premier; the news is gossip on everyone and everything. There should not be bias in the media, when Presidents of power countries like the US and China do wrong the media expose them. This sheds light on their leadership and enables the country and the world to see them as they are. When I do wrong it is publicised why should it be any different for the Premier; he is a human being just like you and me and should be exposed just like you and me.

  42. If all of the Haitians in Providenciales would band together they could effectively have a successful coup d’etat . Imagine the implications to the Tourism, Banking and Real Estate industries.

Immigration left unchecked is a disaster waiting to happen.

I would like to see the government and the people of Turks & Caicos do more to protect and secure our boarders. SPICE seems to be overwhelmed and will not go into certain areas of the islands (particularly the Bluehills proper near the Howell’s property) for fear of resistance.

Illegal immigrants in this country brag about how they are tipped off when SPICE is about to execute a ‘raid’.

The illegal immigrants in Five Keys have effectively and successfully claimed one of the best beaches on the island of Providenciales. How can we allow this to continue? We need to take back this area, sanction it as a National Park and protect it.

One of the ‘projects’ of illegals is to squat on prime property, build their homes and then pressure the government to issue them clear title on it (after the fact) because not caring government would bulldoze a house. They ‘play’ on the emotions of humanitarians.

Another project of illegals is to prolific ate exponentially, i.e. have as many children as they can in a country to guarantee that they will have a presence/force to be reckoned with in the future.

They put undue stress on our educational system and a huge burden on the health care system. Show me the statistics of how many illegals are born in this country each year.

The Minister of Health (who should credit herself as being the number one facilitators of illegal immigrants) needs to take her head out of the sand and face the issue of illegal immigrants head on. I support recycling 100%, however the city dump should continue to be the venue for illegal immigrants to recover items dumped off. This is extremely unsanitary and unhealthy. The city dump needs to be quarantined off, fenced in and monitored.

I would like to ask each Member of Parliament these questions, how many votes were your guaranteed if you would turn a blind eye to what the illegal immigrants are doing to/in this country? Is it worth it?

I once use to be proud to say that I came from the settlement of Bluehills. This area should be a quaint stop on the tourist venture of the island. Is it? No. Why? Just look around: unkepted roads, illegal dumping, illegal immigrants, unsanitary homes, it is just a dump.

We need to take control of our country before we loose it completely.

  43. This is Tourism Awareness week, and I would like to say to the Minister of Tourism, of tourism to be effective here in this country, we need to get that tourist to spend more here. Keeping the tourist in one section of the island is bizarre. When we market Providenciales, we should show case the entire island.

For instance, Ms. Marion’s Saturday breakfast in and the craft center in Bluehills should be highlighted. A boat ride over to North Caicos should be high on the agenda of the savvy traveler.

Tourists today expect more and we should do more to ensure that they experience all the taste, sights and sounds of the islands.

  44. November 26th, 2008

    Dear Minister Floyd Hall
    Minister of Finance
    Providenciales, Turks & Caicos Islands
    British West Indies

    RE: BRITAIN AND FINANCIAL SERVICES

Does the Turks & Caicos have any U.S reserves? I am keenly aware of the lack of a Central Bank here in the Turks & Caicos Islands however, the time is at hand for the Ministry of Finance to start making money of those entities/persons who ‘use’ for lack of a better word, the TCI as a transit point to send money to other tax haven like Cayman, Bermuda and Panama.

It is absurd that it cost me more money to have a finger print taken than it is to send 100,000.00 out of this country. Where is the logic in this?

Let’s encourage the foreign investor to make more contributions to our ecoomy, not by just providing jobs but also by actually keeping some of their funds in this country for extended periods of time. Our financial sector is akin to the tourism industry where the stopover visitor is more valuable to us than the cruise or transit visitor. Stopover visitors just spend more money.

The practice of foreign investors using the Turks & Caicos Islands as a transit point to send funds to other destinations should cease and desist forthwith. The time has come for this government and any other successive governments to enact policies that will increase the service fees for sending monies (especially funds made in the Turks & Caicos Islands) offshore. They are using us; we should benefit more from them. This way the Treasury of the TCI would be in a better predicament. Ever wonder why there are so many money transfering companies over here? The only person/entity making money off the foreign exchange is the FX Company.

I trust that the individual(s) from Great Britain working with the Ministry of Finance seriously examine the relaxed laws in the TCI regarding the fees levied by government for foreign exchange/transfers.

With the advent of a new TCI Lottery, we have to ensure that funds derived from it will not be used to purchase more Hummers, homes and luxuries for the M.P’s, their families and cronies. We have to ensure that the PEOPLE of the TCI benefit. Not the illegal immigrants, the PEOPLE of TCI. Not the FX companies, the PEOPLE of TCI. Not the lawyers, the PEOPLE of the TCI.

While you are at it, I highly recommend that the TCI government purchase the Centre Mews which is located on Leeward Highway (East). This would ensure that they too take their ‘foolish’ (and I am being sarcastic here) advise and stop paying rent and own their own office complex.

Business as usual in the TCI has to put on a new face.

Cc: Permanent Secretary of The Ministry of Finance

  45. I totally agree with you thes big company such as kischo, comuter line and the rest of them they send money home for nothing the also dont pay much for customs duty so something needs to be put in place where they are tax on every dollar they make

  46. It is such a shame that you would post your words of hatred on this website. Your comments about Haitians deliberately manipulating the Turks and Caicos government are totally irresponsible and un-called for.
If you, “Miss Proud Blue Hills Resident” would take a look at the “Dump”, it is Haitians that pick up your garbage and then take it to the dump that you are so disgusted by. If you take a look at those “filthy streets”, it is Haitians that sweep it every single day so you can ride in your nice Hummers, escalades and BMW’s. It is Haitians that you exploit to construct your homes for cheap labor, then most of the time deport them before paying them for the jobs they do.
I am 100 percent for border protection and homeland security, however, we must take into consideration that most people who live in Haiti, the most impoverished land of the Western Hemisphere, live on less than one dollar a day. Most of them must ration their food to ensure that each children get a hot meal, most of them must let their children live with complete strangers to ensure that they eat and have a place to sleep, despite not knowing what sort of conditions their children may be subjected to live in once they move in with their so called helpers.
There are so much questions and uncertainty as to reason for this sudden rise in immigration instability…we have yet to come to the source of the problem. It is not Haitians….yes they arrive in boat loads causing a strain on the Police Force and Spice, however you have skilled Haitians that ask for work permits and then denied. You have doctors that are cleaning bathrooms….YES DOCTORS. You have nurses, and lawyers and pastors and business owners and college graduates and philosophers…that are serving as maids, waitresses, butlers, and road sweepers to ensure that you “Miss Proud Blue Hills Resident” live comfortably. While Chinese and Fillipino workers who are thousands of miles away get work permits and arrive by the hundreds….we should try and assist those closer to home first. But no, we talk about being a country of prosperity and hope while we have foreign workers living in containers and wooden huts by the hundreds paying them less than three dollars to work night and day on huge projects. You, no longer allow Haitians to get work permits because they will not work for that type of wage.
As for people who have kids in the country, how dare you? Why don’t you say that about people who go to the United States…EVERYDAY…. and have kids and collect a birth certificate….social security payments….Medicaid….concessions on tuition payments. 1 in every 3 kids are born in the United States nowadays, and then their parents bring them back to Turks and Caicos and get dual citizenships, then claim that their children are from the US…while they continue to benefit from the many advantages government give. Now who’s putting a strain and manipulating the government.
Why is it that it is okay for Dominicans…YES DOMINICANS to come to the Turks and Caicos Islands by boat and SPICE don’t report it to the news? They arrive in Turks and Caicos and put Haitian flags so people can assume they are Haitians. Why is it that when Dominicans are hospitalized they are treated as kings and queens and blasted in front of the local newspapers as tragedies….their stories are the same as the stories of Haitian boat people. They sell their homes and valuables for a dangerous boat ride with no promises. Why is it that we pity the Dominicans and the Chinese when they explain their living conditions back home but when Haitians talk about their lifestyle, people like you get disgusted. Why is it that a Haitian child can get deported, or cannot get proper documents until they are 18, cannot travel to the US or any other country to get proper medical treatment because they cannot get proper documents.
Have you ever spoken to these Haitians, have you ever asked them about their ambitions and their goals…do you know that they eat, sleep, laugh, and cry just like you and me. Have you ever asked a Haitian child about their future, do you know that they are furious that people like you judge them as Haitians and not by their character. Have you ever had to live in unfamiliar surroundings, with no family, friends, a different language, having to work night and day to feed a wife and three or four children back home. No I guess NOT.
I am not asking government to look the other way, but I ask that you put yourself in their shoes, most of them just want to go back home. And as for the ones that are manipulating the system, because some of them are, not everyone is the same.
History always, ALWAYS repeats itself….if you take a look, Haiti just like Turks and Caicos Islands…flourished. The government in Haiti got greedy, began to steal money, started to terrify the residents…people began to protest, investors pulled out, government got greedier, Haitians began to fight back, government got ousted, there was a new government , that government was greedier, Hurricanes after hurricanes, government properties and landmarks were sold. Then it crumbled and hasn’t stopped since then.

Story sounds familiar. I think we in Turks and Caicos are in that “government got greedy, Hurricanes after Hurricanes and oh yeah properties got sold” chapter. Take a second and sit down, I think you already know how this country’s story might end.
It is not the people who decided to do this, it is a communist government that did this.

  47. I like you Karen. I agree with you take on the situation. And we are indeed barking up that same tree that our neighbors are in if the people of this country do not wake up. Than we would see who will be the ones running to the Bahamas, US, and everywhere else except staying in their own country.

We need a serious reality check.

  48. Karen,

You missed the ‘boat’ here. We have assisted the good people of Haiti for many years now. We have made contributions through financial assistance, educate their children, given them work permits etc.

Haitians are welcomed here in the Turks & Caicos Islands provided that they come here LEGALLY.

How many do Expats do you expect this small nation to absorb?

My great-grand father was born in Haiti, moved to the United States on the ‘contract’, married a lady from the Turks & Caicos Islands and settled in Providenciales: Legally.

If they come here, they must do it the right way. The United States has border control. We should too. However you should not expect this little nation to take on more than they can handle. Do you really want the rest of the Caribbean to look like Haiti?

Only the good Lord can fix the problems they have in Haiti and in my most humble opinion, the fact that Voodoo is the national religion of Haiti means that the people of that national will not prosper because God is not Mock!!!

  49. yes karen u sure miss the boat u talk about the doctors, lawyers, teachers who clean people house for a living what about all the criminals who are coming to our shores from haiti with there weapons and drugs what about that my father is from haiti he came here from he was eleven and he cry shame on the hatians and how they behave. they make money and they act like they mess dont stink thats is da problem y put ur basket higher then u can.

  50. I hope these comments don’t just die on blind eyes but the management of WIV and those concerned really read and listen. I want to commend the station for this venture but I need to see more. Are there any plans mapped out by the station for growth and the improvement of it’s programming? 1. We need live and update news cast ( this is 21st century media now) 2. We need to see at least one new added feature each year ( a morning program, children’s / educational program) 3. What about a local entertainment show ( TC Idol) 3. A regular newcast team that is known and promoted in the community. I should turn on my tv and look forward to seeing X or Y of the evening show or morning show.
I am sure ratings would go up and so would sales and thus more money. You are running a business right? Wake up people! Don’t be so complacent! You should be measuring yourself against newscast in the caribbean and around the world and making the necessary improvements. I know Rome was not made in a day but my golly start somewhere please. Get ideas from the community and start making an effort! I will be the first to be proud of you and your accomplishments. Strive on my friends and leap ahead! Let us show the young people here that no matter how small a business or a project is that it can project itself to world wide excellence. Small television station with huge visions. Begin dreaming! Begin improving ! moving! Become the best You were meant to be! ( All said in love and well wishes) Big up WIV!

  51. This a reply to what the comments from honesty. I want to say Watch CNN and all major newscast my friend. They dont care where you are from. You are professional, You get your job done. You are a world class journalist You are hired! What we may need is the promotion of Journalism as a viable field of study to pursue. For yes we want TCI to be represented, it is a local station. But let us get pass the ‘they here to take and leave’ mentality the world does not run like that. We love to emulate the United States! Then look carefully, examine them well!. Quality comes first, dedication. ‘Can you get the work done” You are hired! Where are you from again ( that is secondary) except for those with racial and status prejudice. Wake up my friends the world is a global village. It is those who can leap ahead who are making it. Bond your thinking by where someone is from and you will be left behind. Yes national pride is very important! But also is activating the people to take their place. If they are not going to out to study and become professional high class journalist. What then hire because of …..? Again I say! We are not just a speck in the ocean anymore! We must be able to run with the big heads. Look at the world travel awards friends! TCI on the map. You think they came and measured how many islanders were working. Think again they looked on service, world class service. Because the face of the world is changing everywhere they went they saw people of every race and color working in countries that were not their own. Again I emphasize, mobilize the native population to rise and take their place, and if they are ready and able and being pushed aside. Then arise and seek justice. But if not! Spread the news get everyone ready. But we cannot wait with arms folded, the world is moving on the country, every business must make money and offer world wide service with quality human resource from anywhere. That is just how the cookie crumble. Just not a speck in the sea no more. Got to compete. That is just life! Move forward in thinking or be left way behind, bitter and complaining, while other smaller countries who have gotten the vision forge ahead! The road is hard but mental thinking got to change. Got to free our minds Brothers and Sisters!

  52. C’mon folks, everyone is taking something small and blowing it way out of proportion. I am not saying that there aren’t any bad Haitians, or any criminal ones, or any illegals, in fact there are thousands and millions, just like your nation and every nation on the face of this Earth. There are good ones, there are bad ones, you win some, and you lose some. But that does not represent the image of every Haitian.
What I want you to understand is that there are outstanding Haitians in the community that do not represent the thieves, and illegal’s. There are Haitians that work night and day, build a home, create amiable relationships and fit in to society perfectly. I am just tired of people blaming Haitians for all of the problems. Anything that goes wrong, the first thing that the vast majority does, is blame foreigners. If there are no jobs, we are responsible. No food, we are responsible. Rape, we are responsible. If you lose your job, We ARE Responsible.
Again C’mon. My point was simply that yes Haitians come, legally and illegally. But there are thousands of other Dominicans, Chinese, Jamaicans that are here without work permits and everyone looks the other way. Yes they are a strain to the economy when you have to repatriate them, but there are Haitians that have homes, businesses, kids, and are a part of the community. You should treat them with the same respect you want for yourself. I am pretty sure you were not acting like this when they had to go to Haiti to trade and when you had to lie about your identities in the Bahamas.
The amount of hatred I see your people display is unimaginable….you cannot stand to see anyone of any other ethnicity do well in your community. We’ll I thought that’s what democracy was about. You stand with me, I stand with you. I fight for you, you fight for me….but we always fight for the little people. People like Haitians, Fillipinos and Chinese that are sometimes victimized, harassed at work and at schools, are forced to say they are not Haitians in fear of humiliation.
GOD has blessed the Turks and Caicos Islands, we are fortunate that in such a short time to have accomplished so much, but just as he gives he can take away….and GOD may not be happy with the fact that Haiti idolizes voodism, however no sin is too small or too big, he looks at all of them the same. Hatred, discrimination, victimization, suppression on your part, are all as much as sins as someone who believes and practices voodoo. GOD will punish their sins, just as he will punish your sins and your hatred ways.
Help your fellow man; don’t knock him when he’s down. Teach him to be better, to look better, maybe to read and write, teach him how to write a resume, teach him how to blend in. Stop criticizing and HELP. You don’t have to give money, you can sit down and ask him how you can help him write, how he or she can dress, how he or she can start their own business, instead of talking bad about him of her as they babysit your children and clean your homes and be your maids and cooks and servants. HELP THEM.

  53. ok karen enough of that we get your point

    • The PNP which now holds the majority of the seats in parliament will have to vote in favor of the motion….thus stating that they do not have confidence in the leadership of the Premier.

Under the TCI Constitution the motion of confidence is one of the only two ways in which the Premier may be removed from office. According to the constitution the governor can revoke the appointment of the Premier if the motion receives the majority vote the governor can also then consult with the Premier and if the Premier requests it the governor can opt to dissolve the legislative council.

  54. To the owner of T.C. Gas, Depot-Industrial Park Providenciales TCI, I refer to your response in one of the weekly newspapers last month pertaining to the substandard parking lot at your facility.
Your reasoning for not have an acceptable drivable surface for your clients is not only asinine but also ludicrous.

The surface is not paved because it would be too caustic to the clients and the environment? Clients speed through your premises thus posing additional risks?

    Solution number one: Erect barricades to prevent patrons from getting too close to your tanks;

    Solution number two: Erect a speed hump, to slow down traffic;

Solution three: If asphalt is too toxic, pave the grounds with concrete cement.

Solution four: Your facility should not be located in an area that is so close to other facilities such as residential homes and a mechanic body shop. Perhaps you should consider relocation to a more suitable site.

So Mr. Owner/Director and Manager of T.C. Gas, your rational for not installing proper paved facilities for your client is inexcusable. I call upon you once again to please bring your facility to first world and first class standards.

I would be remiss if I did not say, Thanks (by you idiotic explanation) for calling the people of the Turks & Caicos Islands

    S T U P I D.

Cc: Honorable Lillian E. Boyce, MP
Minister of Health and Human Services

    Honorable Wayne Garland
Member for Richmond Hills, Providenciales – District

    Honorable Galmo Williams MP
Minister of Home Affairs, Public Safety and Labour

  55. Mr. Michael Foot
    Chairman
    Promontory Financial Group
    United Kingdom
    Email: http://www.promontory.com/Email.aspx?off=London

    Dear Mr. Foot:

Whilst you are reviewing the financial industries here in the Turks & Caicos Islands we, the people, would like to see particular attention being paid to the lack of exchange control here. A Central Bank (not just a Banker’s Association) is needed to ensure that this Crown Colony is not a safe haven for money launders and terrorist.

Attention should also be paid to the fact that USD must be brought into this country on a scheduled biases. This is very costly. The time has come this British Overseas Territory to build up some USD reserve.

This TCI government has a number of fiscal arrangements that must also be revisited. For instance, the government has been paying astronomical rental fees for office facilities for decades. A centralized government complex would get rid of such an expense.

Contrary to popular belief, the tresury here in the TCI is devoid to meet even daily obligations. For instance, specimens from the lab at the hospital cannot be sent away for examination due to non payment of fees. Civil servants are not being paid on time. Scholarships are being paid on time. (*Cuba has an excellent scholarship program to students from neighboring countries. Tuition is practically free. Many a doctors, nurses and other professionals were born from this program.)

Belonger’s status is being sold at an alarming rate. This is posing an immigration nightmare. How many ex-pats can we really absorb? Persons wishing to invest and reside here from other countries should only be able to qualify for permanent residency. They should be required to pay an annual fee for this luxury and they should not have the full benefits of being a citizen of this Crown Colony – rights to vote and etc. Citizenship/Belongership should only be reserved to the children of Belongers who were born in other territories.

Outright status should not be granted just because you were born here: if your parents migrated here illegally, and you were born here (illegally) it is not obligatory that you are granted Belonger status. Imagine the immigration implications to the Crown.

You see Mr. Foot your review here is timely and we, the people of the Turks & Caicos Island, do hope that you not only review the financial industries, but also be the catalyst to make amendments.

    I remain,

    DeVita Davenport

  57. I am curious to know why is it that successive governments of the Turks & Caicos Islands have not taken the initiative to own their own official buildings.

The Treasury, the Land Registry Department, Immigration Department, The Ministry of Education, are all still paying rent. This is highly wasteful.

I would like to see this administration or any other administration take the initiative to be the landlord and not just a renter. You will save the peoples’ money in the long run.

Imagine you don’t have to drive up and around to pay for essential government services. Take for instance if you have to pay for a birth certificate, you would have to first go to the Registrar’s office and complete the form. Then take the slip to the treasury department, which requires a drive, and then return to the Registrar’s office to submit proof of payment. This is asinine.

In order for us to achieve first world status, the way forward, is to bundle essential government services together. The government offices should be situated so that one can walk to different offices within the same complex. We have to start working smarter and not harder in this country.

    Think outside the box.

This is one way to cut cost and reduce expenditure. Unless, of course, the landlord of the Sam’s building, Butterfield Square and the Town Center Mall are too offering you substantial kickbacks.

  58. After day one of the Commission of Inqury, I see why the Misick and the PNP government do not want to own their own facility.

    KICKBACKS

  59. To all who are interested in knowing how a commission should be run log on to

http://www.dca.gov.uk/consult/inquiries- click onto annex C-review of inquiries and overlapping proceedings.

There you will see a position paper by Sir Roy Beldam.

  60. Yes a me, its obvious you would think like that toward Pat’s little comment though it seems to be directed toward foreigners in a derogatory way. Your speech ethics implies that you’re a money hounded jamaican low keying down there until your oppertunity arises to flee to america. I agree that more natives need to be interviewed like they do in AMERICA N JAMAICA so you slow your roll and let a native respond even if her statement has to be polished up a little.

  61. what will happen 2 our country?

  62. what is going on in our country . this comission of inquiry is really damaging our reputation in the international market we all should cry shame. this pnp government needs to resign they are all hungry for money and power

  63. The Premier has done things he is probably not proud of. But as a small country in the caribbean, tourism is a big deal to Turks and Caicos Islands. Bringing much negative attention on almost a daily basis by the media coverage is not helping to feed the image of a great vacation spot. I do believe that bad press could hurt the country and the economy. One of the comments made in this feedback was pleased with the media coverage of the Premier using the President of the United States as an example. Once again, I will repeat, Turks and Caicos Islands is a SMALL country that depends on tourism and cannot and should not be compared to the United States. I understand that there has to be unbiased opinions of our leader and the news media should report important issues but where are the positive reports? what good things are happening due to his leadership? I would definitely like to see some positive coverage of the Premier, he is still the leader of the country..like it or not!!!!!

  64. There are some folks who are willing to turn a blind eye to wrong to satisfy their greed or maybe a family member, it is still wrong. Another thing, when tourist come to the TCI, they do not come here to see Mike Misick, they come here because they want to enjoy a piece of the Caribbean, so don’t fool yourself into thinking they care about what our Premier is doing. When I travel, I travel to take care of my business not to get involved in the country politics. Lets stop closing our eyes to evil and stand up to it for a change. If you do not stand for something, you will fall for anything. And by the way I love my country too, that is way I am willing to fight for it.

  65. Do we know what is hurting our country? It is not so much the bad publicity, it is leaders without vision. The word of God says, “Where there is no vision the people shall parish.” When you have corrupt leaders, the country bring froth corrupt fruit. The reason for all this bad publicity, is because our leaders made wrong choices. If there were no reason for the Commission of Inquiry to investigate this government, we would not have so much bad attention. So don’t blame the media for our leaders foolish and selfish behaviour.

  66. sweety this is not the first time this happen this island was hit wit an inquiry in the seventy, andd it was the pnp party to so sister or brother if the tourist want to come who stoping them this shouldnt stop them if they want to vacation here

  67. There’s nothing to fear but fear itself. When we keep silent that is what criminals want. All of us has a voice and we need to speak out as the adults of this country for the future of our children. When Martin Luther King Jr. stood up for Black Americans he didn’t stand by himself, black people stood beside him. We need to come together as a Nation and stand up for our rights, for our children rights.

  68. Now that the Grace Group is making it’s round about beautiful, it is time for the FCIB, The Seven Stars, The Casablanca, Bay View Motors and La Raye Cinemas to follow suite and beautify the traffic circles that are in close proximity to them .

It’s your corporate and environmental duty.

  69. The removal of Dr. Mills as Ministry of Education is a complete mistake.

The Honorable G. Williams ought to rethink this appointment.

We want Dr. Mills, a man with the education, vision and skills to catapult the Turks & Caicos Educational system forward.

We wanted change, but Dr. Mills in the position as Director of Education should not have changed.

  70. I want to be able to pay my WIV 4 bill online at Royal Bank

  71. We need better internet service from WIV4 in the Windward Road Area (Glass Shack)

  72. Thank you for allowing me this opportunity .

    DIGUSTED AND FRUSTRATED CIVIL S
    To whom it may concern:
I am a civil servant wishing to express my veiws on the delayed payment of salaries I must say that I am very digusted and frustrated by the obvious unconcern of the government for the civil servants . Today marks the 26th of June and we are yet to be paid and just a few hours ago I saw the Hon.(and i use the term loosely) Royal Robinson at Gilley’s Restaurant at the airport having drinks with friends and aboviously not concerned about the fact that many of the civil servants have bills to pay and children who are scheduled to graduate by next week. This is down right ridiculous and cannot be tolerated any more ,it is unfair for us to report to work every day and cannot gaurantee pay at the end of the month. The ministers are not concerned about us because they have enough stolen money to make ends meet each month.
I am speaking out for all the civil servants who are afraid to voice their opinions. Its such a shame that we make the money (especially the customs department) and cannot enjoy it like the corrupted ministers can.
    ERVANT

  73. i would like to see a company that is more responsive to their customers. A company, which provides what it promises to the island, but sadly that will not happens as the owners are arrogant, and management indifferent.

  74. Civil Servant,

A closed mouth is never fed.

I admonish you and your colleagues to make a formal complaint to the Governor.

He is aware of your circumstance and should be able to assist.

Speak Up – Speak Out !!!

  75. The people of the TCI need to pay more attention to their surroundings.

Beaches are filthy, easements are littered with trash, roaches, rats and flies are abundant. This is proof that we are neglecting our environment.

I would like to see more being done by way of civic organizations, churches, schools and political parties with regards to fostering a cleaner and pristine environment.

We must also address the shanty towns and shacks in the bushes of the TCI. Homeless persons are reeking havoc on the environment. Recently whilst on a nature trail, I came across human feces in buckets !!!

    Something must be done.

  76. I will like to see the job market on WIV -4

  77. I would like for Miss Earth, congratulations by the way Miss Capron, to agitate that WIV4 move HGTV to a channel in the basic package.

This move would ensure that the people of Turks & Caicos are exposed to the splendors of taking care of their homes and environment with particular emphasis on curb appeal.

  78. Who is responsible for the upkeep of Leeward Highway?

The DERC/Government need to give the landscapers who transformed the round about @ IGA the contract to transform the easement that runs the length of Leeward Highway.

Plastic, tons of pea rocks, some palm and cactus trees would make this major highway congruent with our island’s truly Beautiful By Nature theme.

  79. I agree with Pandora.

Provo is naturally beautiful. We must work with mother nature to keep it that way.

Persons striving for political office should make it their mandate to enhance our environment.

Each constituency should have quarterly clean up campaigns. Schools, civic groups, church groups, hotels, bankers and law firms all need to pitch in to clean up Provo.

  80. Who is the responsible for garbage collection in Providenciales?

The department of health must mandate that each and every household , rental unit, company must subscribe to a bi-weekly garbage collection.

Every wonder why we have so many rodents, flies and roaches in our land?

  81. I love that Rotary International is building a park central in the Cooper Jack Bay area.

My question is, why is the constituency of Bluehills being ignored again, and again and again !!!

Bluehills is the largest community/constituency in the Turks & Caicos islands. We need a community park.
Most children in Bluehills live below the poverty line and do not have a suitable outlet for them to play.

A park is desperately needed. Perhaps you can put this on your agenda for next year.

While you are @ it you may want to work @ helping the students of the Clement Howell High School receive a much needed basketball, baseball, tennis court, track and soccer fields.

  82. Man Pandora you needs to write the Governor.

Perhaps he would do something about the beautification of Leeward Highway and the island in general.

What peeves me off right now is the junk yards located across from the new IBG offices near the IGA round about, the junk yard across from the Texaco gas station on the South Dock Road, Herzog/Johnson’s Construction Yard near the South Dock round about and the corner of the Clement Howell High School.

These sites are eye sores. The health department could bring much need ed monies into the treasury by levying fines on places such as these.

There must be some laws in place for unkept, unsanitary and hazardous surrounds.

  83. Yet again another fatality on the streets of Providenciales.

We must not operate out of the box to ensure that our streets are safer.

We must lobby for the installation of traffic lights particularly at the functions of
    1. Windward Road & Leeward Highway
    2. Cherokee Road & Leeward Highway
    3. Caution and traffic lights for pedestrians on
Leeward Highway near Whole Man Christian
    School
    4. Blue Hill Road and Millennium Highway
    5. U Turn lane – Leeward Highway & Center Mews Buildings

There is also a need to connect front street Blue Hill to Cherokee, Blue Mountain, Independence and Thompson Roads. There is too much traffic congestion in the morning and the bottle neck is frustration to navigate through.

Please road traffic and town planning, rectify this vexing problem.

    We want safer roads.

    • I do not believe that the installation of traffic lights on the streets of the Turks and Caicos Islands will solve the issue of traffic fatalities in the country, afterall the majority of our neighbours in the Caribbean use traffic lights on their streets and persons are still prone to accidents.

I think all of the roundabouts along Leeward Highway need to be taken up and replaced properly, I think that will go along way in helping motorist to use the road better.

I really don’t think that we want the hustle and bustle of stop and go traffic here in these islands, i don’t think that there is any point on Providenciales that you can leave from and not arrive at your destination within 15 minutes. I think residents and visitors alike enjoy the simplicity of that here in the Islands.

I agree that other access roads should be built to help divert some of the traffic coming into and out of the Blue Hills settlement, that infrastructure is well overdue.

Prehaps it may be a good idea to follow in the steps of our fellow Overseas territory Bermuda, although smaller than the island of Providenciales i believe, it may be possible for us to consider placing a limit on the number of vehicles per family, so that we alleviate the amount of traffic that would be on our roads not only now but in the future as we seek to develop more.

I also think that there can be and should be a better and more effective public transportation system in the Islands especially on Providenciales. If we can properly regularise our public transport system it would go a long way in dealing with the issues of illegal jitneys that we see on the road now. There are many workers in this country who do not have their transportation and have to be on the streets in the wee hours of the morning and late at night, wouldn’t it be awesome if they could have the assurance of catching a safe ride to and from work whatever hour they need to. What a comfort that would be, not having to worry about bothering someone to take you home or hustling on the road after a long day at work to find get a lift home. It’s difinitely something to think about. Considering that most of our neighbours throughout the Caribbean offer reliable public transportation and most countries in the developed world have these systems. Establish a system where buses will leave from a particular main terminal at specific intervals during the day and night, specify routes for the buses and it would help alot of people.

There are numerous ways that we can help alleviate the traffic problem that we face now before they get too far out of hand and it does not necessarily mean we have to have traffic lights installed.

  84. Will the following person please answer the phone lines in the Land Registry Department :-

    Position Name Location
1 Registrar of Lands Kendle B. Williams Grand Turk
2 Deputy Registrar of Lands Grisilda Smith Grand Turk
3 Assistant Registrar of Lands Naomi Simmons Grand Turk
4 Administrative Officer Kerisa Simms Grand Turk
5 Land Registry Clerk Kereitta Simpson Grand Turk
6 Land Registry Clerk Kareem Williams Grand Turk
7 Secretary Vinett Harvey Grand Turk
8 Data Entry Clerk Micah Creese Grand Turk

Is there something wrong with the phone lines there? Or is this one of many acts of civil disobedience?

    Please, answer your phone lines.

  85. Who is responsible for erecting road signage in Providenciales?

We need school zone signs near the Provo Christian School, in Bluehills.

We also need some speed bumps to slow down the traffic on the road leading up to the school.

We also need school zone signs near Precious Treasure, Small World School and Whole Man Christian School.

    Please, Oh Please !!!!

  86. National Parks & Beach Access

WIV4 how did you miss this development story….
Why has Niki Beach closed its doors?

Is it really because the property it was built on is designated as “National Park Land”?

Where are the protected National Park lands in Provo located? We want to know.

Also, I would like for you to investigate the legality of a resort & spa developer located near the beach access of the Alexandria National Park, Cherokee Road, Providenciales, to erect a sign waring ‘Trespassers not to enter thier land (beach)?

I mean where exactly is the beach access? If you look at where and how the sign is posted, it can be misconstrued that the Spa developers own the entire strip and that the public access is no longer in valid.

Can they do this? Is this beach not protected? Governor, Planning Department, DERC, and Land Registry, we, the people of the TCI, want to know.

  87. While it offers a good spot to sell merchandise, I am certain the general public would agree that the mango & avocado peddlers should not be using public bus stop shelters as their fruit ‘depot’ or farmer’s market.

Do these people who ambush you in the IGA parking lot and at the airports have permits to sell thier produce?

Are these produce inspected by the agriculture department when they are imported into the country or are they just off loaded from a sloop or an aircraft without scrutiny?

    Inquiring minds want to know.

  88. Taxes in the TCI.

Real Property Tax inclusive of vacant and occupied properties would generate a considerable revenue. The Condos and Rental units should also be levied with property taxes.

There are hundreds of condos and rental units in the TCI. Limiting taxation on vacant property, means that we would miss out on a potentially lucrative sector of real estate.

Remember, the condos valued in the millions = millions in the treasury.

    Don’t tax income.

  89. they don’t answer because

    1. they don’t exist – or perhaps

    2. they’re out to lunch/have just stepped out/are in a meeting/are on the other line (delete as appropriate); or then again, perhaps

    3. they just don’t want to speak to you or anyone else that might give them some work to do – or perhaps

    4. they are working (extremely unlikely)

    My guess is 3.

  90. Whitney
We can’t have traffic lights because they will break down the day after they are installed and there will be no one to fix them and we will be back where we started. People must learn to drive more safely. Road users must learn to drive as if every other driver on the road is a lunatic – or drunk.
    Frank

  91. Frank,

I disagree with you. Embrace change.

We have improved roadways however the necessary infrastructure to compliment the highways are nonexistent.

This is the 21st century – embrace progress.

The life saved might be yours Frank.

The junction at Leeward Highway & Cherokee Road & Windward are the worst.

How many deaths must occur for you to wake up?

  92. We need Spice back.

    Please.

Officers may lack training in human skills but that unit to catch illegal immigrants MUST be reinstated.

Human rights activists should comb the bushes of the island and do the human thing – find the illegals and repatriate them back to thier homeland.

  93. “To ensure that all business and consumers in the country have access to reliable state-of-the-art telecommunications services at reasonable rates. ” This is quoted directly from your mandate.

The time has come for the TCI Communication Commission to cause to come into effect the elevation of per call charges from land line phone. This practise is outdated.

Lime the primary provider of land lines can bundle monthly local land line services into a one flat fee product. The Bahamas is a good example of this.

We should not be paying for per call charges on land line phones. They make sufficient monies from cellular services.

The government can still receive their commission on monthly sales. Phone subscriptions would increase exponentially.

Time to think outside the box.

  94. in refrance to the unlawfal subdivisions in five cays the govenor or the court need to take the assets of the people who sold these govorment land and put it up for sale an take that money and give it to the people who lost there money /homes or resub-diwide the area an sell the lots over to the people who lost there homes.

  95. To the individuals who own/lease property in the South Dock area that are being threatened by the Governor to have their land reclaimed by the TCIG, please find out what your rights are, do not be bullied by the Governor. The land was issued to you in good faith and within the statutes of the Land Ordinance which states that development can take place within protected areas. If you own the land (outright freehold), the Governor CANNOT take back the land, your ownership has nothing to do with the TCIG any longer, other than the 10-year hold, which says that you cannot sell the land within that period without being penalized by losing the Belongership Discount clause underwhich you obtained the Freehold.

Please folks, please seek the advice of a lawyer with knowlege about the Land Ordinance, all law offices have a set of TCI laws in its library. Do the research please, don’t allow the Governor to override the law to suit his own purposes.

  96. I saw a news report on WIV last evening regarding students who were not permitted to attend school due to overcrowding.

What confuses me is the claim from a parent who indicated that he was out of work. My question is, if the migrant worker, who is here on a work permit is out of a job, shouldn’t his former employer ensure that he leaves the country?

Aren’t person on work permit brought into the country on a round trip ticket.

Once employment ceases, shouldn’t that work permit holder tenure in the country cease?

If this is the law, the employer and the now unemployed worker and in breach of the law.

This ought to be looked into more carefully.

  97. Sorry Blazin,

  100. Hi Management,

I wanted to write to you about this for a while now but did not find the time.

I dont understand why you guys do news after your sports and weather. I don’t think its a good idea. I believe many of your viewers miss that portion because all the news i watch all over the world present their news as News, Sports and Weather. Thereore you know that when you see the weather then the news must be over.

Please explain your reasoning because all i know about news is to watch and listen to it daily.

If you dont have a reason and its not something new just carry on otherwise please consider doing it like its done.
