Regional News: Tropical Storm Olga Death Count at 25

Tropical Storm Olga has claimed 25 lives, according to the top post on today’s Caribbean Net News. The worst damage recorded was in Santiago, Dominican Republic the regional news source read.

The worst hit was Santiago, the second largest city in the Dominican Republic, where 17 deaths were reported after rising waters forced authorities to release water from a dam into the already swollen Yaque river.

The Article reported over 6,000 people in the DR’s emergency evacuation facilities and some 28,000 people forced to stay with family and friends due to Olga’s destruction.
